It might be, most of my training is Database design, SQL, access...etc etc.... But I'd really like to be apart of a "profit center"...not overhead. So everyone I have talked to says to go into sales for a year or two then try to focus on a specific peice of hardware and go for Sales Engineering positions.

Could I be joining you? bwhahahahaha

You could very possibly be joining me since I happen to know we had someone leave a pre-sales position in Atlanta recently. Now be nice before I call the manager down there and tell him you suck!

As far as being part of a profit center, I've been pre-sales the last 11 years - if you perform well, it can be a career for life. If you want to move on to other things, HP does provide for that as well.
